Long Live King Cotton

Our local Junior Auxiliary charity ball is called the "Cotton Ball". My family has been a part of this ball for years - my dad was on the children's court in the fifties, my aunt, Ygondine, was the queen in the eighties, my sister and I were both maids when we were in high school, my uncle, Mike, was the king in the early 2000's, and my sister, Susanne, was this year's queen. It was a great night, the band (Nationwide Coverage), was fabulous, and Susanne looked beautiful. Sadly, my camera died just as Susanne was being presented. I still haven't gotten copies of other people's pictures, but am hoping to get some soon.

On another note, Gary and I have never won any silent auction items, but this year we won THREE, and we feel like we got a really good deal on each of them. Woo-hoo!

My friend Laura has complained that every picture of Susanne and her boyfriend, Stephen, look exactly the same. She said that they could be using the same picture and just changing the background. So, we took a series of pictures just for you, Laura:

We celebrated my friend, Elizabeth's birthday:
This was the only picture that I was able to get of the king and queen before my camera died:
This was the picture in the paper the following Monday:
Mary Laine was Aunt Su-Su's proxy:
