Weeks 4 and 5

Week 4

Week 5

It is amazing to see how much Mary Laine grows and changes from week to week. She is much more alert now. She furrows her brow and studies everything that she sees. She smiles and giggles alot in her sleep - it is the cutest thing. We can't wait for her to start smiling and laughing when she's awake. We went for our first walk and she loves her stroller. She also "rebounded" for Daddy while he was playing basketball.

Earlier this month, my Aunt Pat and Uncle Jim came to visit. It was so great to spend time with them. Mary Laine was very excited to meet her great-aunt and uncle. One day when they were here, my mom's aunt and cousin came over for lunch, so Mary Laine got to meet a great-great aunt. While Pat and Jim were here, we went out to dinner and a movie. We saw Taken, and while we really enjoyed the movie, it is regrettable that our picture of Mary Laine at her first movie is in front of a marquis that appears to be pointing a gun at my daughter's head!!

Last weekend, the three of us headed out to Lee and Amy Coleman's house for dinner. After my time on bedrest, I am cherishing any opportunity to get out of the house and spend time with friends. Gary and I also went to a wedding on Saturday night and left Mary Laine with her first babysitter. Thanks Chandler!

When I was pregnant, our ultrasound tech commented that the baby seemed to have large muscles. She has been able to hold her head up pretty much since the day that she was born. My mom says that Mary Laine is "freakishly strong". Well, we continue to be amazed with her unusual strength. Today, Gary was taking some pictures of Mary Laine while she was lying on our bed. I turned her onto her tummy and, as Gary was shooting some pictures, she rolled over! We are going to have to keep a close eye on this girl. At this rate, she may be walking in the next few months.

Finally, I couldn't resist having some fun with all of this hair. I had to give her a faux-hawk. Enjoy the pics!

Mary Laine turns 1 month old

In celebration of Mary Laine's 1 month birthday, she treated us to a birthday dance.  I must say, she is quite talented.
