May 2010

We stayed very busy in May. Mary Laine and I started the month off with a trip to North Carolina. After stopping in to see Uncle Andy, Aunt Kelly, Jacob and Payton, I got to spend a weekend at the lake with some college friends and Mary Laine got to go to her Grammy and Poppop's house. It was so nice to have a weekend away and to spend some time with my girls. I realize that the time that we were going to bed is the time that we used to be getting ready to go out, but I'm okay with that. :-)

On the way home, we stopped in Atlanta to see the Galbreaths.

Bathtime with Kelsey and Carter

The next weekend, Gary went to Atlanta for the Galbreaths' Kentucky Derby Party and then the Young Life Golf Tournament. Mary Laine and I couldn't join him because she was a little sick after all of our travels.

Even though we couldn't be at the Derby party, Mary Laine still sported her fanciest hat.

Since Mimi filled in her swimming pool, we make due with what we've got

Mary Laine and I also had a chance to go to Destin with Mimi, Aunt Susan, and Aunt Pat. We connected with some distant relatives and got to go and meet them for the first time. But, of course, we got in plenty of beach time while we were there.

She loved to walk around with the camera and tell everyone "cheese!"

Dancing with the cute boy (much to Daddy's dismay)

Happy to be back home with Papa

I've almost got this potty-training thing down. I just need to figure out if this is a seat or a hat...

And a quick video of Mary Laine "reading":

Just for fun, here is a look at how much our girl has grown in a year:

There were cheerios in most of the eggs...

But a few golden eggs had the good stuff!

March 2010

In March, Mary Laine really started walking well. Playtime can be so much more fun now that she's mobile. Trips to the park are more than me just holding her. March was also the month that we found out that Baby #2 is on the way. I told Gary and my parents by putting the "Big Sister" shirt on Mary Laine. The rest of the family had to find out by phone. We are so excited about the new addition to our family!

She loves food!

First haircut. She was getting a mullet so I couldn't resist trimming it up.

The Flanagans came for a visit. Mary Laine loves Mary Abbott and Reid!

She is going to be a sweet big sister!

February 2010

Have I really not posted about February yet?!? Oh my! Well, I guess I've got alot of catching up to do. Here goes... we had a blast celebrating various milestones with friends, attended cousin Jane's baptism, got a light dusting of snow, took Mary Laine's "one year" pictures, traveled to Atlanta for Bill Gale's retirement party, had a blast at Cotton Ball, and played, played, played! Enjoy the pictures:

The high chair became a toy - she loved pushing it around the house!

We love our photographer, Kim Kelley!

Playing with Annie (and Sadie and Emma, but they weren't up for pictures...)

Mrs. Bettey Jim teaching me new games

It's always a party when the O'Brien girls come over to play!

She got this balloon on Valentine's Day and it became her new favorite toy.

Happy Retirement Bill!
